Why this directory exists
Tynes Media is an independent digital publishing, business discovery and search intelligence company based in Sarnia, Ontario. Founded by Trevor Tynes, it researches, builds and runs specialized websites that help people find useful information, make informed decisions and connect with businesses and professionals.
Criminal Lawyers Canada is a Tynes Media publication. It exists because someone who has just been charged, or whose family member has, needs to find a criminal defence lawyer near the right courthouse quickly, and to understand the charge before the first call. The directory lists lawyers by city and by the kinds of charge they take, and its guides explain the law from official sources.

How listings are vetted
Every listing starts from public business records. We keep practices that are open and take criminal defence cases, merge duplicates, and drop practices that have closed. Descriptions come from each firm's own website and leave out case results, awards and rankings. A certified specialist is named only when the Law Society of Ontario's directory lists them.
Right now that is 1,206 criminal lawyers in 51 Ontario cities, last refreshed 2026-10-28. Listings for the other provinces and territories are being added.
Owners can claim their listing for free. Every claim is checked by a person: a real local business, a matching email domain or a call to the number on the Google listing. Paid placements are marked as paid wherever they appear, and they never change what a listing says. Read the editorial policy.
Corrections and removals
If a listing is wrong, or you want your business removed, tell us. We answer within a week and rebuild the directory with the change.
